Joining Ginny’s Yarn Along, sharing what I’m knitting and reading.
.
As I took these pictures yesterday, I noticed how all my knitting and reading match this week. I feel so coordinated (hehe). I finished knitting another cowl for our shop, now I am waiting for just the right buttons to add to it. The yarn is organic merino from Brambleberry Yarns. Cynthia dyed it with indigo and turmeric. The color is so gorgeous! (Pictures don’t do it justice, it’s so incredible in person.) And I know I’ve said this before, but the merino is absolutely heavenly to knit with.
I cast on a Milo vest for Bracken. I’m so happy to finally be knitting a vest for him. In this post, I wrote about the yarn I’m using for it and also asked for your suggestions for favorite vest patterns. Originally I wanted a vest with buttons. I thought about the Pebble vest or the Colin vest. I really loved this vest. But I finally decided on the Milo, even though it doesn’t have any buttons, it feels like a good starting vest for me and I’m going to do this first one without the cabling on the front. Keeping it simple. I picked up the only circular needles that were available in size 6 needles at the place I went last week. The pattern said that size would work, but I’m going to pick up a larger round when we run errands in town today because the knitting is getting difficult with so many stitches on such a small round.
For reading, I just finished Taproot, Issue 4: Wood. Magazines always feel like such a treat to read, since we don’t read them often. Reading a little before bed each night, I read it pretty quickly. I enjoyed it and I love the paper dolls that came in this issue too, they’re so sweet.

How about you? Knitting? Reading?
