Joining Ginny’s YarnAlong, sharing what I’m knitting and reading.
.
I had some leftover yarn from the baby hat I finished last week. I had a pattern printed out for these mitts (that I got when they were offering one free pattern, thanks to our friend April for letting me know about the deal.) I saw that they had a toddler size and thought that would be the perfect project for the rest of my yarn. It’s a simple project, perfect for knitting in the car. I did however accidentally knit two rows instead of knit one row purl one row, as it calls for. I thought maybe it wouldn’t that obvious, but it really was. I kept knitting. Why didn’t I fix my mistake right away when it would have been so much easier to do so? Good question. I did eventually come to my senses, ripped out my work, and fixed my blooper. Much better.
I took these pictures in the car on our way back from our Waldorf class. Thanks to Jeff driving, I was able to finish the first mitt by the time we got home (just need to weave in the ends and add a button.) In the picture the mitt looks really long, but they get folded down with a button added. Now to start the second mitt.
As for reading, still enjoying the chicken reads from last week. Jeff and I are loving reading about the different breeds and working on our list to order this spring. We actually wrote our list last year, but then decided to wait because it wasn’t the right time for us. Our chicken “wish list” has remained mostly the same, with a few changes.
How about you? Knitting? Reading?
