….Knitting….
I took these pictures yesterday, on Bracken’s wool blanket, while he was napping next to me (and not using his blanket since the house was plenty warm, plus he kicks every blanket off anyway.) I had some leftover yarn from making this cowl. I couldn’t bear to see any of that beautiful yarn sitting around unused. I started knitting these itsy bitsy baby socks to surprise a friend. They’re so little and cute! I just finished the heel flap on the first one and am starting to turn the heel. It looks like I’ll have enough yarn, we’ll see. The other day I was knitting in the car while Jeff drove. We went to the drive thru at the bank to cash a check and the lady looked at me and said “what are you knitting with all those needles?” She thought knitting with double pointed needles looked very complicated (so did I before I did it) and I assured her it was much easier than it looked. These teeny socks look so funny to me being knit on such long needles (but I wanted to use what I have.)
….Reading….
Still reading ‘A Book of Bees’ by Sue Hubbell. I’m really enjoying it and am learning so much about bees. I’ve been sharing bits and pieces from the book with Jeff and he’s been sharing his beekeeping experiences with me. I find bees fascinating. All of this information will help when the time comes for us to start raising bees here again. I like her writing and would like to read her other book, ‘A Country Year.’
How about you? What are you knitting and reading?
