Today’s giveaway is brought to you by Wooly Moss Roots Sponsor- Little Woodlanders.
I’ve just recently connected with Rachel online and have enjoyed getting to know a mama in another part of the world (The United Kingdom.) Her handmade wooden toys have gentle, soothing colors and smooth, rounded edges. Her two girls inspire the beautiful toys she creates.
I’ll let Rachel tell you more:
………………………………………………………..
How did your business come to be?
Rachel: I started making wooden toys as Christmas presents for my girls. This was shortly after I discovered the Waldorf ideas about play. I opened my Etsy shop in January 2012, so I’ve been going a little over a year.
I love the idea of open-ended toys, made of beautiful natural materials, which allow children to use their imagination. My favorite thing about my business is knowing that I’m making natural, open ended toys for children all around the world that will help them to learn, use their imagination and have fun!

Which products do you personally use most?
Rachel: My 5 year old and I also love to use our knitting forks, and my girls’ favorite toys are their princesses, unicornsand little animals, especially bunnies. I have a few nursing necklaces I wear, which I started making because my youngest daughter was always playing with my hair and putting it in my face while breastfeeding. These necklaces worked perfectly, she loved to fiddle with them instead!
What inspires your creations?
Rachel: My inspiration mostly comes from my children. I have 2 little girls, ages 3 and 5, and I see what they like to play with and talk about, and often get ideas from them that way. I also get lots of ideas while looking through storybooks when we go to the library!
Are you excited about anything new you’re working on?
Rachel: I’m working on a little pirate set, within a new style of people I’m trying out. These are some of the ideas I got while reading children’s books! I’m also excited about my new items: Life Cycle of a Frog, Wooden Spring Toy Set (Tulip, Girl, Bunny, Rainbow Set), Girl and Rainbow Set, Wood Toy Ice Cream Cone, Wooden Toy Pig Set- Mama and Baby Pig, and Wooden Dolphin Toy.
For today’s giveaway, Little Woodlanders is offering one Life Cycle of a Butterfly to one winner!
