*(A little late today. We had a long, fun day yesterday and little sleepy head was pretty tuckered out. He just kept sleeping this morning, which I knew he needed. I figured you wouldn’t mind waiting.)*

Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
-Wild hyacinths blooming around the pond. When the light hits them just so, the entire area looks transformed into a magical faery realm.
.
-Putting up some fencing for the chicken yard. Felt good to get a start on it.

.
-Getting the two large windows moved from where the cold frame used to be, to it’s new home along the chicken coop. They were very heavy and awkward and we were so glad when we got them into place.
.
-Waking up to a rainy morning (that watered the garden for us) and a cozy fire in the woodstove (thanks to Jeff) which is a rare treat this time of year as it’s been so warm out.
.
-Farmer’s market zucchini and onion sauteed with our breakfast. Yum.
.
-Jeff getting the lettuce and parsley starts planted in the garden.
.
-Dishes done. Meals made. Floors swept. House tidied up.
.
-Watching the chicks change day by day. It’s amazing how quickly that happens.
.
-All of us stopping for a few moments and taking a break in our busy day to sit in the grass and eat an apple.
.
-A surprise call from a friend. Mary Lou is such a sweet and dear soul and it was so nice to hear her voice.
.
-Bracken helping put herbs in a jar to make sun tea.
.
-Cool grass under my feet while I took laundry off the line in the hot afternoon sun.
.
-Spraying ourselves with the garden hose. So refreshing on a hot day.
.
-Having running water again! (Will share that story soon.)
.
-Hearing children singing. One of the most heavenly sounds on earth.
.
-Sun kissed cheeks.
