…Knitting…
I just started to cast on that wool I spun on Sunday. The merino wool roving came from Amanda’s shop: Wild Plums. She hand-dyed it in beautiful shades of blue and purple. When I saw it, it immediately reminded me of clouds before a storm. The merino wool is so soft and was enjoyable to spin. My yarn came out huge and chunky, which I love. There’s not much there to knit a project with, so I will probably be making a wool pouch. With this project, as long as I’m spinning and knitting I’m happy, so not too concerned what I make with it.
…Reading…
Awhile ago I read through part of the book: ‘Growing Vegetables West of the Cascades, 6th Edition: The Complete Guide to Organic Gardening’ by Steve Solomon. It was recommended to us by a guy at our favorite feed store. I was going to pick off where I left off, but decided to start over from the beginning. It’s the first book I’ve read about gardening and I’m loving it. There are fingerprints all over it, showing how much use it’s been getting lately as many days during breakfast Jeff will look something up in it or read something aloud. Gardening in our area is quite different, so this book is incredibly helpful. We’re expanding our vegetable garden this year and I’ve got vegetables on the brain!
