What are they? We just discovered them on Saturday. I went over to the Kombucha Mama booth at the farmer’s market to fill up our glass jug with some of their pomegranate lemonade kombucha (our favorite flavor of theirs.) They happened to be sharing a booth with Vanilla Jill’s and I had just read in the Locally Grown guide that they offered “paleo” ice cream (without dairy or sugar) and was curious. They were offering kombucha floats, rather than root beer floats. We got sugar-free coconut milk ice cream scoops with pomegranate lemonade kombucha poured over the top. It was sooo good. A rare treat for us.
Trades.
Trades add so much joy to our market days. We traded with our friends for a beautiful wooden box in cedar that we love. We traded with our other friends for a basket of vegetables at farmer’s market. Then a farmer had mentioned trading some of our homemade sauerkraut for some of his cabbage, so we brought him a jar and traded for part of the cabbage we bought from him. We were low on money and being able to trade for some farm fresh produce was really a blessing for us.
New kind of Naptime.
The picture below is actually from a few weekends ago. On market days Bracken has always fallen asleep for his naps on me, in the Ergo. A few times he fell asleep on Jeff. Then we had to be still for so long to keep him asleep. A few weekends ago I gently moved him to the ground after he fell asleep on me and he kept napping! It was wonderful. We layed soft sweaters down to make a bed for him. He always gets so hot and sweaty in the pack, so it was much cooler for him on the ground. I was able to sit next to him, knitting, and relaxing my body and not needing to worry about staying so still. It seems like a very simple thing to get excited about, but it felt like a huge step for us!
