…Knitting…
Bracken’s green hat is growing! (The one I wrote about last week.) It’s been knit one row, purl one row, for quite some time which has been easy and perfect for car knitting. I just got to the part that will start forming the pixie top. I’m looking forward to picking out a button for it (there is a strap that goes under the chin.)
…Reading…
I took a break from my other reading because a book came in for me at the library, one I requested a long time ago and have kept calling to check on. I was so happy when it finally came in! It’s called Cure Tooth Decay: Heal & Prevent Cavities with Nutrition by Ramiel Nagel. I have yet to finish it, but I already highly recommend it! Much of the nutritional information is based upon the research of Weston A. Price, whom I’ve written about here before. (For those of you who haven’t heard of him, he was a dentist in the 1930’s who traveled the world studying indigineous cultures with the healthiest teeth and what they ate. He came back to the United States and used what he learned to heal many cavities and bring people back to good health. He went expecting to find vegetarian and low fat diets to be the healthiest, and was surprised to find it was the groups eating the most animal fats that were the healthiest. Quite different than modern advice to eat low fat diets. He inspired a lot of dietary changes in our family and I am grateful for the information he has shared with the world. It has helped so many people. I could keep going on and on about him, but I’ll end it here for now.)
There is information in Cure Tooth Decay that I’m familiar with and there’s also a lot that is new to me. It’s inspiring me to once again make some more dietary changes for our family.
P.S. Technical difficulties today, that’s why this post is a little late.
