G r a t i t u d e  *  S u n d a y

…The one sunflower left standing after the storms. All the other sunflowers were bent over every which way, but this one stood tall as ever. 

.

…A peace you feel after coming out the other end of feeling awful.

.

…Bracken having an extra long nap when I needed the rest.

.

…Having a book to read that I’ve been enjoying so much. Every little bit I get to read, here and there, is something to look forward to. I don’t want it to end!

.

…A crisper full of apples from our tree, in the fridge. They are so delicious. 

.

…A break in the rain and a wee bit of sun while Bracken and I got some fresh air, outside time, and harvested some zucchinis and cucumbers in the garden.

.

…Nourishing meals and getting my appetite back.

.

…Days when Bracken and I both feel refreshed and renewed after nap time. Him after a nice sleep and me after some quiet time to myself. 

.

…How much moving around in the fresh air improved my mood and outlook.

.

…Pruning our three rosemary plants and drying the trimmings by the woodstove. Felt good to get that done. (Next pruning project: lavender.)

.

…Pulling up cucumber plants and starting to clear space for the next garden.

.

…All the ways Bracken helps in the kitchen and around the house.

…Encouraging words from friends.

…Family bear hugs. Those are the best.
 .
…Bracken’s excitement over harvesting beets in our garden. He holds them up with a smile lighting up his whole face.

…Home day. Warm woodstove. Rain outside.
.
…Incredibly supportive customers.
.
…Watching Heart and Souls. Hadn’t seen it since I was a kid. Love that movie. 
.
…Waking up from a stormy night last night to see we had electricity still.
