Last weekend Bracken and I left Saturday Market for awhile and Jeff watched the booth. We went to a friend’s birthday party at a park and Bracken had a blast (there was a big blow up bouncy thing -for lack of a better word- with a slide and he hasn’t stopped talking about it since.) He also got some temporary tattoos in his goody bag. Jeff put them on Bracken on Sunday, so he got his first tattoos. While I was outside with my camera, he came up and wanted me to take a picture of them. So here they are.
Tattoo is actually a word he’s been saying for a long time because he was fascinated by his grandma’s tattoo. She has one on her ankle. He told me that he wants a chicken tattoo on his ankle, which really cracks me up. (And I wonder if there’s a temporary chicken tattoo out there?)
Anyway, it’s been a busy day around here. We’ve been getting ready for market tomorrow. That’s really why I started writing this post, to let you know we’ll be there. But once I start typing… (smile)
There was an egg in the nesting box today, much to Bracken’s (and my) delight. We harvested in the garden and got lettuce to pack for our lunch tomorrow. Food preparation is always part of getting ready for Saturdays, not just having our booth packed and lots of stock made. We like to have part of breakfast prepared ahead of time and we pack a lunch every time. I need to get the kale washed and ready for breakfast and the lettuce washed and ready for lunch. I know just the little helper who will like to do that with me (anything to do with water and the sink and he says “Yes!”)
Those of you at market tomorrow, see you there!
