…Joining Ginny’s YarnAlong, sharing what I’m knitting and reading…
.
I’m back for YarnAlong this week. I took a break from knitting my mitts because I looked at the calendar and realized our friend’s birthday is coming up really fast and I’ve been planning on knitting this headband for her. I’ve seen her wear headbands in the wintertime and I made a mental note last winter that I wanted to knit her a nice one for her birthday. I bought this pattern at the Holiday Market from our friend Ingeborg. I had the yarn for it. I was feeling so ahead of the game. But truthfully, I was intimidated by cabling. I had never done it before and it looked so complicated and difficult. At last her birthday was coming up fast and I got started…. as soon as I started following the pattern, I realized something: cabling is really simple!
I am so excited to be cabling now, it feels momentous. You can see I haven’t done much yet, but I’m looking forward to some quiet time to myself to work on it some more.
I’m in between books. I just finished reading: Saved. (Wrote a little about it in this post.) Good food for thought in there. Ben Hewitt is a great writer and he makes a lot of good points. Worrying less about money is certainly something I’ve wanted in my life and his book is good inspiration for that. A good reminder of what’s really important in life and what’s not. What’s worth spending our time on and how to do the best we can within the system we’re in.
How about you? Knitting? Reading?
