…Knitting…
I’ve made a lot of progress on the cabled headband I’m making for our friend, thanks to time at market and on the drive. We’ve been home this week, so not any driving opportunities to do more knitting, but I’ve been waking up every morning before Bracken and knitting for a bit before he wakes up. It’s a really nice way to start the day, quietly knitting. Our friend’s birthday is tomorrow, but now we won’t be seeing her until next week so I have a little more time to finish it. Watching the cabling unfold (or rather interweave) before my eyes is so amazing. Jeff thinks it’s the coolest thing and is very impressed with my knitting skills, which is very funny because I’m not a very advanced knitter.
…Reading…
You know when you see a book everywhere and you know you’re meant to read it? That happens to me quite a bit, but it especially happened with this book. Some of my friends blogged about it and it looked like a good book. Then it started popping up everywhere. I mean everywhere. I kept thinking “I need to read that book someday.” After multiple e-mails where it popped up repeatedly, I practically said “Okay Universe, I got the message, I’ll read it!” We went to the library to request it, thinking it would take awhile for them to get it for me, but to my surprise it was on the shelf there. Reading the title, Unconditional Parenting: Moving From Rewards and Punishments to Love and Reason, made me incredibly intrigued. I wondered how to parent without using rewards and punishments? I really wanted to know more. I haven’t read much yet, but it’s definitely making me think about parenting in a whole new way.
How about you, friends?
Knitting? Reading?
