Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…Our neighbor inviting us to come over and pick some grapes, since they had more than they knew what to do with.
.
…A fall crop of nettles in our nettles patch. And Jeff going out in the rain and harvesting some for two mornings in a row, to enjoy in our breakfast.
.
…How much I love spending time in the kitchen in the mornings.
.
…A fruit smoothie with fresh ginger in it. I’d never had that combination before and it was delicious.
.
…Playing and laughing with Bracken. We had so much fun together.
.
…Steam rising from the laundry while I hung it to dry near the warmth of the woodstove. A beautiful sight.
.
…The sound of Jeff happily singing out in his workshop. Whistle while you work.
.
…Hearing Bracken say “thank you mama”, “thank you dada“, so often lately. The way he says it is so sweet, we both melt every time.
.
…Cleaning. Sweeping. Dishes. Laundry. Love looking around and feeling it all come together (even if it lasts for a very short while.)
.
…The healing powers of raw garlic.
.
…Jeff’s magic with birds. He gently helped a bird stuck on our front porch (as he has many times before) and rescued our beloved chicken when she got stuck away from the coop at night. (She flew over a fence and couldn’t get back in.)
.
…Things working out when sometimes at first you don’t think they will.
.
…Digging in and doing what needs to be done (even when I’d rather be knitting.)
.
…Our market friend being okay after her accident.
.
…Enjoying good music at the market yesterday.
