I wanted to show you our two new solid perfumes that I mentioned here recently, saying that we’d have them in our market booth. I finally got them both posted online. We have Happy Hippy and Flower Child now in the shop! Both are inspired blends created by Jeff. If you are a local, you can come smell them in person in our market booth. When people online ask what they smell like, I do my best to describe them in words. I tell people, if you like the smell of patchouli then you’ll love Happy Hippy! Jeff describes Flower Child as the perfect balance between floral and earthy. You can read more about Happy Hippy here and more about Flower Child here. (The background for the Happy Hippy label is from a watercolor painting I did years ago and the background for the Flower Child label is a picture I took of flowers in the garden.)

Some of you might remember that we had liquid perfumes in our shop once upon a time with four different blends (Flowering Woodland, Calming Uplift, Utopian Daydream, and Sandalwood Rose.) We still love those blends, but we decided that we like creating solid perfumes much better than liquid ones. We plan on creating our previous scent blends in solid perfume form, as time and money allows. Two of our previous blends were created by Jeff and two were created by me. I love them all and of course I like the blends I made because I mixed my favorite scents, but I must say, Jeff really has a way with blending scents! The way he blends them always amazes me. He’ll start putting a bunch of oils together and I’ll think ‘How are those going to smell well together?’, but then I’ll take a whiff and wow!!…looking at him and asking “How did you just do that?” I’d say he has a knack for it, that’s for sure. I usually take a few simple scents and put them together, but he creates and entire orchestra of smells, all working together to make something extraordinary. 

To create our perfumes, we use all natural ingredients and pure essential oils. They are concentrated, so you only need to use a little bit. The price for solid perfume is more than for our salves, for instance, since we use so much essential oil in each batch. I like to rub some on my wrists to enjoy throughout the day. The small size is perfect for bringing along in a purse, pack, pocket, or pouch.

In other news: our Mystic Orb shop is going to be closed until after Christmas. I run our Wooly Moss Roots shop and Jeff runs our Mystic Orb shop. It was getting too challenging for him to keep track of the earrings we were selling at Holiday Market and take them off the shop. He decided to just close the shop until after our Holiday Market show is over and he felt a lot more peaceful after his decision. Our Wooly Moss Roots shop will remain open, (it’s much easier for me to keep track of things on there.)

And finally, we will be at Holiday Market this weekend. The snow has finally been melting and the roads are much clearer, thank goodness. You can find us in booth 216 on Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 6.
