…Reading…
I finally finished reading Seven Times The Sun on a rare morning when Bracken slept in late and I woke up early. What a great book. One chapter talked about personal renewal for parents. It was a timely thing for me to read, as I’ve been feeling like I’ve been needing some spiritual renewal lately. This book is one that’s good to have on hand, to go back to for reference and inspiration.
I have some friends who change the children’s books that they have sitting out, from season to season. Last week I felt inspired to look through the bookshelf and pull out books with snow and holiday things. I thought I’d share some that we’ve been reading, with you here. One of my favorite children’s book authors and illustrators is Jan Brett. My favorite book by her right now is The Mitten, which my mom read to me as a child. We’re also enjoying Annie and the Wild Animals, The Wild Christmas Reindeer, and The Three Snow Bears. Two other favorites lately are Owl Moon and The Elves and the Shoemaker. Bracken brings us these books, curls up in our laps, and wants to hear them again and again.
P.S. Got all our holiday orders and Christmas gifts mailed out today! Phew! I took such a huge sigh of relief after that, it felt really good to have that finished.
How about you?
