…Knitting…
That surprise project I mentioned last week?
I loved Liz’s knitting pattern for the Rustic I Cord Wrap Bracelet. I took the smallest yarn I had on hand (some blue alpaca), the smallest knitting needles I had on hand, and some Wooly Moss Roots buttons, and got started. (Ravelry notes here.) At the time, I was thinking about our upcoming trip to Florida and how incredibly grateful I felt for the opportunity to spend time with my sister, my mom, and my grandma. It’s rare for us all to get together like that and it felt so special to me. So I decided to make us each a bracelet. I called them Connection Bracelets, a simple way to feel connected to each other after we returned to our homes. I put a different button on each. I picked a honeybee button for Bracken because he likes bees. With the rest, I let everyone pick their own. It was fun to see which one each person picked and I loved that each person found one that suited them so well. I love that all the bracelets match, yet the different buttons gives them all their own personality. I got the picture above during our trip to the beach. My bracelet got a dip in the Florida ocean. I love that. My bracelet makes me happy every time I look at it.

P.S. I wrote this post earlier in the week and intended to publish it last night, since we were leaving super early this morning, but I forgot. Bracken and I arrived back in Oregon this afternoon, after a long day of travel. We’re filled up with lots of good memories. And we’re ready to get some good sleep tonight!
