…The beautiful purple crocuses we saw in town.
.
…So many firsts and signs of spring on the way. We saw the first daffodils, bees, and gathered the first garden harvests. We started hearing frogs singing in the front pond (how we love that sound!) and Bracken pointed out the window as a hummingbird flew past, the first we’ve seen.
.
…Jeff being able to do graphics work on the computer, since we need it done so often.
.
…Bracken helping me mop the floors and thinking it was so much fun. I had more fun because of his contagious excitement.
.
…Making lunch during breakfast time. Love the days when I do that, so lunches feel easy when the time comes. Two chicken soups made with homemade broth, celery, carrots, beet greens, kale, and turmeric.
.
…Leaving the house early and having time to run a bunch of errands before we needed to be somewhere.
.
…An inexpensive fix on our car when it was acting up. Thank goodness for that.
.
…Giving my body nettles tea when it told me one morning, loud and clear: “Nettles!”
.
…Talking to my mom on the phone while I did dishes and cleaned, which made it go so much faster.
.
…Choosing to write my gratitudes, even while Bracken whined and threw a fit. I could have given up and gone to bed (I was tempted to), but I didn’t want to wait for the perfect time to be grateful. I felt like it needed to happen in the middle of my life which is sometimes noisy and overwhelming.
.
…The sound of Jeff’s guitar in the other room while I hung laundry by the fire.
.
…Bracken dancing to dada’s music and begging for more every time he stopped playing.
.
…Watching little friends playing together.
.
…A friend wanting some items we were wanting to give away.
.
…Jeff bringing me his headlamp (with a little flashlight on it) one morning when I woke up super early and wanted to work on making fabric buttons while Bracken was still sleeping.
.
…A short break from indoor work to be in the garden. Jeff & I took turns pruning the apple tree out front, we got a lilac bush planted in the ground, and Jeff pulled up a bunch of thorny blackberry vines taking over.
.
…Simple, delicious dinner (ready in a matter of minutes, which is good because we were starving): eggs, chives, and avocado.
.
…The fire still going in the woodstove after I’d been away from it and hadn’t fed it in awhile.
