{A new journal Jeff finished in Oregon myrtlewood. He’s created quite a few wood journals over the years, but he’s still figuring out a method for making them that he likes. I love this one with the tree.}

Our family is in two different places today. Bracken got sick yesterday, so I’m staying home with him. Jeff decided to do the Saturday Market by himself today. We got the car loaded yesterday afternoon and he got his lunch packed. This morning I heard him wake up and then I fell back asleep. When I came to, I had some time to read before Bracken awoke. He really slept in, which I was so glad about because he needs his rest. We came downstairs to see that Jeff had the fire layed in the woodstove, all ready for us. All I had to do was light it. Bless him. It takes the chill off the house in the mornings. It feels so strange to have Jeff at market without us, he’s probably only done that one other time that I can remember, we always go together. Bracken was pretty bummed to miss it, but I told him we were getting him better for the next one. Bracken spent part of the morning making a gift and then wrapping his present for Jeff, asking me for scotch tape a few times to finish the job. Later he woke up from his nap and looked around the house for dada. I told Bracken that Jeff would be home soon and then he could surprise him with the gift. This boy has been a pretty good sport about his mama reminding him to stay calm and take it easy all day. He says he’s all better.
