…The bright color from the poppies blooming in the garden.
.
…Bracken’s glee when he helped me vacuum the rugs. I sweep most of the time so when the vacuum comes out he thinks it’s very exciting.
.
…Walking inside the house and smelling chicken baking in the oven.
.
…Knitting to the sound of the chickens clucking outside the window.
.
…Time spent in the kitchen. Always a good thing when that happens.
.
…Finding out the news that our friend’s baby boy was born on the summer solstice. We’ve been patiently awaiting his arrival.
.
…Bracken’s first poem: “Lucky me! Find pea.” (Though he didn’t do so intentionally, I joked that it was his very first poem. Spoken in the garden, while he held up a pea pod.)
.
…Jeff making another trellis and getting more runner beans planted. He made it form an archway over a path, which will be very fun when it’s covered in green vines.
.
…An evening with all of us together in the garden. Family time in the garden is my favorite.
.
…Bracken finding part of a robin’s egg shell. That’s the second one we found this year and it felt super lucky.
.
…Your kind words in this space and when you take the time to leave a comment. Thank you.
.
…Quite a few days where the rain did all our watering for us. The garden has been thoroughly soaked.
.
…Jeff’s thoughtfulness. I’m constantly touched by how thoughtful he is.
.
…Lettuce, arugula, and fresh herbs that Jeff brought in from the garden and made an incredibly delicious salad with.
.
…A beautiful farm wedding. (More on that soon.)
