…The fuchsias blooming around the front yard. They’re beautiful, but I especially love the way they draw so many hummingbirds in.

…My mom being able to get on the same flight as Bracken and I on one of our plane rides home. It was a wonderful surprise to spend all that extra time with her at the airport on our next layover. Words don’t describe how immensely grateful I felt for that.

…The woman who traded seats with my mom so she could sit next to Bracken and I on the airplane. It made the plane ride so much more fun with Grandma Julie there.

…Everything that Jeff did to take care of the place while we were gone. I appreciated it so much because it allowed Bracken and I to take our trip, which was so special.

…Going straight to the garden when we got home and seeing everything Jeff had planted and done to surprise us. (He loves to surprise us when we return home.)

…The taste of home food. No restaurant compares.

…Jeff making a new table by the clothesline for me to put the laundry baskets on and to put his jars of sun tea. Our other one was out of commission and having a table there sure is handy.

…A little unexpected time before we needed to be somewhere to stop by the park and play, while we were in town. Bracken enjoyed it to the fullest.

…Having a working lawnmower again. We don’t have much grass to mow, most of our yard is planted with food, but the bit that we do have is very nice to have a lawnmower for.

…A pool for Bracken and a pool for the ducks. (Bracken’s old pool had gone to the ducks, but then it got a crack in the bottom. After all of Bracken’s fun in the pool at Gee Gee’s, I knew it was time to get him a new one, so they both got new pools this week.)

…Transplanting some strawberries in a pot that didn’t like their spot much to the sunny hillside where they’ll be much happier. (And where they’ll be good ground cover.)

…The wild yellow canary that visited me at the window during a quiet moment.
