…Knitting…
I am officially finished knitting Bracken’s birthday sweater! I just need to weave in the ends and sew on the buttons. I asked Jeff if he would make me some buttons in hemlock wood from our yard. I thought the warm hue of the hemlock would look really nice with the blue. When I placed the buttons on the sweater, I was really happy with the combo! The pattern only calls for three buttons, but Jeff made me extras to choose from.
…Reading…
Last week Bracken and I came home with a stack of library books to change things up a bit (both of us get a bit bored reading our same books over and over again.) There was one in the new section that caught my eye. It’s called: ‘The Quiltmaker’s Gift.’ The illustrations are just beautiful and the story is very touching. Our whole family loves it, so I thought I would mention it here.
How about you? Knitting? Reading?

Yay for Bracken’s blueberry blue sweater! He might appreciate that Rosie decided to be a blueberry today and dress all in blue. She kept saying she wasn’t quite ripe yet so we couldn’t eat her up.

There is a fabric series based on the Quiltmaker’s Gift. I really need to make a quilt for my niece along with the book as a gift. It’s really a great story.

I really love those buttons that your husband made. I was going to ask you where you found such beautiful buttons to buy. I love that blue color of the sweater.
