I have introduced Mira in this space before and I’ve gone on and on about how much I love her clothes and how comfortable they are. We first met Mira at the Saturday Market and used to set up our booths near each other often. I’ve enjoyed watching her offerings expand over the years and I love the beautiful styles she creates. Tell us about yourself and your business:

Mira: I pretty much dragged a husband and three kids out to Eugene to start my clothing line and sell it at Saturday Market.  I didn’t really know about organic fabrics until I moved here. My line was started with conventional cotton, but we switched to hemp and organic cotton in the first year.

 What do you love about what you do?
 .
Mira: I love running Sweet Skins because it makes my life complete. I have 4 children, the first one at 18 and the last one just now, at 40. While I am hopelessly in love with being a mommy, Sweet Skins makes my life complete. Designing clothing gives me a creative outlet. And running the business side of things keeps me sharp and pays the bills.

What inspires your creations?
 .
Mira: I am inspired by the women who wear my clothing. I absolutely LOVE seeing real woman try on my designs and blow their own minds by looking so fantastic in such simple pieces. It’s all in the cut, and in really understanding women when designing. It’s about women feeling good and it showing. And I must confess, I do feel a bit of responsibility to bring ‘fashion forward’ to the earth mamas.

  46. SO thankful to Taryn for introducing me to this company by way of her sponsor tags! I’ve ordered several of their pieces and simply have to echo what others have said about them – SO comfy, well proportioned, and wash up like champs. The fabric is also incredibly breathable and great for layering because it seems to go well from hot conditions to colder ones. I somehow just don’t SWEAT in these the way I do with other fabrics because of that, and that makes for not having to wash them as often. Worth every penny.
