Bracken and I started going to the Rainbow Bridge (toddler & parent classes) at the Eugene Waldorf School just a few months after he turned two. I know I’ve mentioned it here many times, it’s such a bright part of our life. We’ve been going to it ever since that first winter and now Bracken just turned four. I had a handful of pictures I’d taken throughout fall session this year, but the other day I quietly walked around the classroom after class was over and took more. Someday Bracken and I will appreciate having these pictures of the classroom- little corners and nooks of a place that was such a special part of our days at the time. I want to remember those small details and these pictures will be fun to look back on. It’s really such a sweet space, that we look forward to visiting each week.
My heart fills up every time I see the children gathering around for storytime, all their toes together. And I love watching them play. I love the singing. I love the handwork. Bringing our lunch baskets to the table and gathering for some food. The conversations, and most of all the connections. I love so many things about this special class we’ve been a part of.
For fall session this time, we are sewing little apple dolls. You can see them in progress in the basket in one of the pictures above. I mostly shared pictures of the classroom this time, but I threw in a few playground pictures at the end that I’d taken awhile ago. We spend time on the playground each week after class when Jeff picks us up and that particular day Bracken happened to be balancing his “sand pie” on his head. (He balances things on his head so often you never know what will be there next.)

Yes! Miss Marion is such a sweet, authentic and gracious pillar of our community, the steady heartbeat of Rainbow Bridge. I feel so happily blessed that both of my kiddos, now 6 and 9 , got to be a part of the amazing circle of simple sharing she tends so well!

Rosie and I loved Rainbow Bridge and Ms Marion! Its what started me into making little wool felt dolls. Will always think of those days with great affection.
