…Knitting…
Ginny had a fun idea to share our knitted Christmas gifts today. I finished Bracken’s Owl Vest for Christmas, but I have no pictures of the finished vest yet. I will when we are out and about again. While I finished knitting one gift for him, I ended up not getting the knitted bear finished for Bracken in time for Christmas. There just wasn’t time. I’m actually glad it worked out that way because while I was down with a cold, it turned out to be a wonderful project for Bracken and I to work on together. He got a peek of the picture of what I was making and it was no surprise anymore, he was so excited I was making him a bear. He sat by my side carding wool and stuffing the bear with wool and lavender while I worked on knitting the final parts. I’m knitting the last ear, so we’re getting close. Now I just need to request some special buttons from Jeff to add the finishing touches.
…Reading…
Even though I haven’t done a bit of sewing lately, I’ve been really enjoying looking through sewing project books for inspiration. I found ‘Sewing Green: 25 Projects Made with Repurposed & Organic Materials Plus Tips & Resources for Earth-Friendly Stitching’ by Betz White at the library. I’m loving the inspiration in there and I just saw that she has another book out that’s filled with sewing projects to make with felted sweaters! I love making things with felted sweaters and am definitely going to check if our library has that one.
How about you? Knitting? Reading?
P.S. Did any of you knit any of your Christmas gifts with WoolyMossRoots Buttons? If you did, please share them on our Ravelry group because I’d love to see them!
