Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…The ice crystals Bracken and I spotted one morning, out front amidst rocks and mud. We thought they looked magical in the sunlight.
.
…Jeff making black cod and all of us trying it for the first time. Wow. It was so good.
.
…Canceling all our plans so we could stay home and get better.
.
…The feeling of washing all the sheets and bedding after being sick.
.
…Our neighbor bringing us some fish for trade!
.
…Warm blankets on a cold, cold night.
.
…Sunny days with sunshine coming through the windows.
.
…That the windshield on our car didn’t crack worse than it did when a rock hit it.
.
…Jeff finding organic button mushrooms at the store and putting them in our chicken soup. (I always get excited when I see things organic that I’ve never seen available before. Not long ago it was pomegranates and tangerines.)
.
…Putting nettle powder in our smoothies. You can’t even taste it and it adds so much nutrition.
.
…The fact that our pipes didn’t freeze on those cold nights.
.
…The start of a new year!
.
…How wonderfully therapeutic a bit of sewing can be at the end of a hard day.
.
…Bracken helping me sort all the recycling and Jeff bringing it to the dump, making more space in our pantry.

Those ice crystals are amazing – so beautiful!
I have a wee blanket obsession – which is why I am in the midst of crocheting yet another afghan (and got another afghan’s worth of yarn for Christmas! lol! )
