Today’s giveaway is brought to you by WoolyMossRoots Sponsor- Little Red Barn Produce.

I consider Jean our neighbor, even though our houses have quite a few miles in between. We’ve been so glad to get to know her. Our family has had the pleasure of eating vegetables and mushrooms from her family’s farm and we’ve been impressed with the the very high quality of their delicious produce. (I need to ask her some gardening tips, how to grow such amazing cabbage for one!)
.
Jean just let me know that she will be selling at the Downtown Veneta Farmer’s Market starting June 6th, running from 9-1 pm. She will also be selling her produce boxes there. (Edited to add: their items with also be available on Lane Local Foods.) For those who don’t live nearby to find Little Red Barn Produce at the farmer’s market, they are continually expanding the items they offer in their online shop. After I interviewed her, Jean said: “I wanted to add that we are very grateful for each customer we earn. This is a very small business, all of the work is done by myself and my husband and two of our girls. Three are grown and on their own.” I can say there was a lot of work that went into creating all the wonderful items in today’s giveaway!
You can stay in touch with Little Red Barn Produce on Facebook and Twitter@redbarnproduce.
How did your business come to be?
Jean: Some of my fondest memories growing up are of my dad working in the garden and me following him around wanting to help. He would always give me little jobs to do that I was able to do. He always encouraged me and he would talk of someday having a truck garden. This dream never happened for my Dad. I guess I carried it with me , I also carried the love for gardening with me. 15 years ago we were able to move to our farm. It grew from there I have been working on it ever since little by little year by year.
.
What is the story behind your business name?
Jean: When we moved here and I decided to start raising produce I asked my family for help coming up with a name. My dad came up with Little Red Barn Produce. We do have a little barn but we have never gotten around to painting it red. It is a sort of joke around here.
.
What items or services do you offer?
Jean: Garden produce boxes from late Spring to Late fall, Mushrooms fresh and dried, Jams, Goat’s Milk soap, Beeswax Candles, Sore Muscle Rub, Dried Herbs, Fresh flowers , dried lavender and much more!
.
What’s new?
Jean: We have improved our Produce boxes this year. Offering our customers More Choices and More produce over the whole season. I am excited about this and I hope our customers are too!
.
What is your dream for your business?
Jean: My dream for my business is that it can support my family so my husband and I are able to work together More often.

Do you know where Veneta is? It’s a little town outside of Eugene, maybe 15 minutes, on the way to the coast. The farmer’s market there is right off of Territorial Rd.
