Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…Bracken telling me to close my eyes because he had a surprise and then bringing me over to the first dandelion blooming in the yard. The next day he told me to close my eyes and hold out my hands, and he gave it to me.
.
…My sister cracking me up on the phone.
.
…Jeff creating awesome new towel racks for our bathroom and a beautiful wooden board to attach them to.
.
…Bracken bringing a card outside and throwing it up into the air. When I asked him what he was doing, he told me he wanted the wind to carry it to grandma at her house. Sweetheart.
.
…Mornings when I woke up early and got some work time to myself in the quiet hours.
.
…The partial that my dad (a dental technician) made for Jeff so he can eat so much more comfortably.
.
…Trying smelt for the first time (since I saw it on sale.) We enjoyed it and have yet another fish to add to our family’s “like” list.
.
…Doing some mending on Jeff’s overalls. We’re both amazed at how well they’ve held up, actually.
.
…Seeing this mason bee article in the paper. I’m so glad that we found out about them and that the consciousness about mason bees is spreading. We loved raising them here last year and look forward to doing it again this year.
.
…Little moths that visit me at the window when I do dishes at night.
.
…The farmer’s market booths that Bracken creates in our living room on a regular basis. Each day I ask him what he has available and enjoy hearing what he comes up with. (Yesterday it was shrimp.)
.
…A bath by candlelight. It had been so long since I’d done that, I don’t even remember the last time.
.
…Cutting back some invasive blackberries in the yard. It’s a constant battle, there’s so many more to deal with, but every bit is progress.
.
…In our pajamas, at the end of the day, eating bowls of homemade soup.

Wonderful list. I dearly treasure when my kids bring me dandelions. It is just so sweet.
