…Joining Ginny’s YarnAlong, sharing what I’m knitting and reading…
While not technically knitting, I’ve been wanting to share the most recent creation of Bracken’s involving yarn. Quite awhile ago I saw the project for making a fiber garland in the book ‘Handmade Home’. It was always in the back of my mind and all the leftover bits I had from felted sweaters I was saving with that purpose in mind. One night before our trip, I had some sewing to do on my sewing machine. Bracken and I cut up sweater bits and then I gave him a tapestry needle and some yarn. While I busily sewed, Bracken busily made his felted wool garland. I couldn’t believe how long it kept him happily occupied. (Attention parents: great project for a rainy day!) He enjoyed it immensely and was proud to show his finished garland to Jeff when we emerged. He made a long one for himself and another small one he gave as a gift. I know there will be many more of these in our future!
