Sunday: Woke up at 2 something. 3 plane rides. It’s a long day flying across the country, from one corner to the other. Makes me appreciate even more every time my mom makes the trip our way! First plane ride: charger had not worked and DVD player wasn’t charged. Bracken was sorely disappointed since he was looking forward to watching his favorite movie, Winnie the Pooh, and he doesn’t get to watch it very often. Had to think fast, get creative. Spontaneous idea flew into my head and I went with it. Handed Bracken my magazine and a pen and showed him how to draw mustaches and beards on the people’s faces. He thought it was great fun. And then he proudly showed me some ear hair he drew coming out of one of the model’s ears. Fantastic. Stopped in Denver, looked at all the snow out the windows, which Bracken really wanted to eat. The plane had to be de-iced before we could take off. Second plane ride: sat next to man with motion sickness. Later, wanting to be kind, meant to ask him how his motion sickness was before, but accidentally inquired about his morning sickness instead. Made for a good laugh. Finally arrived in Florida, the Florida air felt like walking into summertime, even at night time. Came home to my mom’s homemade soup, just like the last time we arrived after a long day of flying. My mom’s boyfriend talked with us, even though the Superbowl was on. What a guy.
Monday: Slept well from being so tired from such a long day before. Mom handed us a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice on our first morning in Florida. Cheers! Took my mom’s dog on a walk around the block before we’d even eaten breakfast. Bracken spotted coconuts fallen from a tree and wanted to go take them out of a neighbor’s yard. Ha! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner all eaten by the pool. What a life! After breakfast decided to run a few errands. Returned to cloudy skies, but Bracken and I were still determined to go in the pool. They switched it to saltwater and I was pretty excited. Bracken rode around on the “floaty thing” and enjoyed himself immensely. My mom held a pole so she could walk around the edge, but not have to get wet herself. I jumped in. She warned me, it’s not heated. And it’s cold this time of year. Thought I’d get used to it after swimming around a bit, but immediately got out again. Yes, that was cold. A giant bubble maker was a huge hit. And there was hibiscus blooming by the pool. Hibiscus! Took another walk around the block at sunset and visited neighbors. Felt warm out even when it was cloudy. How good it is to be here.

Hi Taryn! Gorgeous photos, as always! My parents also live in Florida and it’s so nice to visit them (I’m in Pennsylvania). I hope you have a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying your family.
