Yesterday we headed to the beach. According to the weather forecast, my mom said it looked like our best beach day. My sister and brother in law had arrived Tuesday night and a beach day seemed like just the thing for their first day. There were clouds here and there, but mostly it was sunny and beautiful. We saw some jellyfish, which made me a bit afraid since I’d never been stung before, but no one ended up getting stung. My sister and I swam in the ocean (I took a “selfie” of us on the beach which is challenging to do with my camera so it was pretty funny.) I love swimming in the ocean and feel I need to embrace every opportunity to do so since our Oregon ocean is much colder and I’ve only swam in it a few times. I love the feeling of saltwater on my skin and sand in my toes. We built sandcastles and Bracken chased a few seagulls with Grandma. My mom said they must have been having some erosion because trucks were bringing in sand to another part of the beach. My brother in law said something along the lines of: “Wow, they must take sand castles very seriously here.” After the beach we went and ate some seafood at a restaurant with a roof, but no walls. You could see the water from there and then there were turtles to see and fish to feed afterwards. We stopped by a shop after that and outside there was a little train so Bracken took a ride. I love the last picture because you can see how much Bracken is loving the attention from his adoring Aunt and Uncle!
how very fun!
oh I do so love these beach photos! Even more so as we are covered in many feet of snow and inches of ice! It is hard to believe being in the thick of this awful weather that somewhere there is warmth and sun and sand!
I may just dream of that tonight!
