…Knitting…
I’m working on a secret project, so can’t say much about it for the time being, but I didn’t have enough yarn for the project I wanted to do and it inspired me to knit stripes for the first time! I can’t say how exciting it was for me to knit around, watching the colors change and knitting my very first stripes! (If you are a knitter you can understand why I get so excited each time I learn a new skill, no matter how simple it is. Right? Or else I probably just sound silly going on about stripes.) I’m realizing that stripes are going to be a great solution for so many bits of leftover yarn that I have.
…Reading…
Our family recently discovered Library 2 Go. We had been checking out audio books from the library and a librarian told us about it. Now we can just download the audio books from home and they have such a great selection! We’re pretty happy about it. (Do you fellow Oregonians know about this awesome resource? And if you are in another location, ask your local librarian because chances are you have something similar.) We’ve been listening to the story of Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers. It’s read by Sophie Thompson and she really brings each character to life. The book is quite different from the movie I remember watching as a child. In the movie I remember Mary Poppins being so sunny and sweet, but in the story she is much more cross. We’re finding the story very entertaining.
How about you? Knitting? Reading?

Oh it certainly looks like spring has arrived in Oregon! I hear you with the new skill excitement. It’s like when you make your first sweater after only have knitted hats and scarves literally forever. So it is with knitting only in one color, then discovering stripes. Love your enthusiam!
Here in Colorado our library has a similar program of downloading books to your tablets and computers from home. Pretty awesome!

What cute little flowers. 🙂 Such a happy photo. I’m really enjoying the feeling of my next knitting project being up in the air. Having worked on a sweater for what seems like forever, the idea that I might some day -not- be knitting this sweater…

I have nothing on my needles right now but I do agree about how exciting it is to learn knew knitting skills. When I learned to sew pieces of fabric together I was so excited. Now I need to work on socks!
