{Sunday’s heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}

Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…The apple blossoms all over the apple trees. (Don’t those petals just make you want to rub them against your cheek?)
.
…The fact that Bracken’s missing hat showed up at the chiropractor’s office. I had knit it for him for his second birthday, it’s gotten use for over two years now, and it’s a special hat to us.
.
…Bracken putting a vase of flowers together and setting it next to the bed to make Jeff feel better when he had a cold. It had sprigs of flowering watercress and all sorts of things that Bracken pointed out to us.
.
…Sharing and receiving gifts.
.
..The surprise party for Jeff. Definitely a highlight of our week, that was. And all the friends and family that made his birthday so special this year.
.
…The little girl on our trip to town who looked at me, not like a stranger, but like a familiar friend she’d known forever. Maybe she thought I was someone else, but her open heart made me smile all day long.
.
…Getting the correct things Jeff needed at the hardware store. I walked in with an old bandsaw blade, a detailed drawing of another item, and said “my husband sent me.” They smiled knowingly and were so helpful.
.
…How cozy my new hat feels.
.
…My mom harvesting the first lime from her tree and sending a picture to my sister and I. (Now if only she would plant about 10 more of her lime, lemon, and avocado trees and then send regular boxes to our house… I’d be a really happy daughter. Ha!)
.
…Jeff buying some beets when we had both been craving them. Our whole family loves beets.
.
…The good news that we got accepted to vend at the Black Sheep Gathering again this year!! We had such a warm welcome to the festival last year and look forward to being there again this year.
.
…Finding those strawberries we had been hoping for at the farmer’s market.
.
…Watching Bracken with his little friends at market yesterday. Holding hands. Dancing. Chasing bubbles.
.
…Sunshine and clear skies at the end of the day while we were packing up our booth, which was nice to keep our things dry while we loaded them into our car.
.
…The home-canned tuna our friends gifted us. When we got home from a long day at market, tired and hungry, we wondered what to make for dinner. And then realized some tuna on a salad was the perfect thing, what a blessing that was last night to have a quick, delicious meal.
