I realized it was time to plant our spring baskets if we wanted them in time for our egg hunt, but we had no wheatgrass seeds in the house. We got some wheat when we went to town and Bracken and I planted our baskets yesterday. The potting soil we used was very soggy from the rain, but we put our baskets by the woodstove where they will be nice and warm (and hopefully sprout sooner!) If I had been very organized, I would have posted here earlier than now to remind you to plant your spring baskets to have them ready in time. I created this tutorial last year to walk you through the process. Easy to do and very fun. Bracken really enjoys the process of planting the baskets. And from what I’ve seen, kids love them for gathering up the eggs they find!
P.S. Jeff got Bracken a new pair of garden gloves this week and he’s very pleased with them. They’re a bit big, but they give plenty of room to grow.
P.P.S. You may have noticed something new in the sidebar, I wanted to make it easier for people to find areas of interest on the blog. Now you can easily find some of the favorite categories. (Below that is a drop down menu with all the rest of the categories.) Don’t they look fun and colorful? Jeff used his photoshop skills to help me out, thanks honey! (The category that says ‘Handwork and Homemade Gifts Ideas’ may not have that many homemade gift ideas yet, but you’ll be sure to see many more in the next year!)

This is… amazing. I had never really thought of doing something so fantastic. -Actuall- grass, not that plastic stuff. 😀 This makes me very cheery.
