{Sunday’s heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}

Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…My favorite maple tree down below in the old goat yard. It’s so majestic and beautiful. I love all the green and the moss. (I’m also thinking it would be the perfect place for a swing.)
.
…Trying turnip greens for the first time. They had a really mild flavor and I’m happy to be adding another green to our diet.
.
…Roasted turnips and beets. I love roasted vegetables.
.
…Our garden time.
.
…Jeff surprising us and having baked yams ready for us when we came downstairs. (A favorite of Bracken’s!)
.
…Being able to (finally!) switch my name on my e-mail from my maiden name to my married name. It always bothered me and I was never able to switch it before.
.
…Running into a market friend in town who we hadn’t seen in a long time. And Jeff had just been asking about them.
.
…Jeff helping me with “technical difficulties” on my computer time and again.
.
…That Bracken and I were okay after a truck pulled right out in front of us when we were on the highway headed home. I had to slam on my brakes and my horn. I was shaking for a long time afterwards.
.
…That the mosquitoes hardly bothered us at all when we were out in the garden one evening.
.
…Jeff making some asparagus that was so incredible, I kept exclaiming “how did you make it taste so good?”
.
…A good dose of humor. Nothing like it.
.
…The fact that the bird tape we put up has kept the robins away thus far and we have currants ripening and turning red as we speak.
.
…Watching Bracken with his friends and having it melt my heart over and over.
.
…A long, full day at market yesterday with lots to see and do.
