…Joining Ginny’s YarnAlong, sharing what I’m knitting and reading…
…Knitting…
I picked up my sister’s hat during a car ride and realized I didn’t remember how to do the yarn over between two purl stitches. I guessed and thought I’d done it correctly, only to look back at my knitting and see that I did not do it correctly. Later I ripped my knitting back to the ribbing, watched a youtube video (thank you youtube for priceless knitting assistance!) and re-learned the technique. Now I’m moving along again. It’s funny because I just knit this exact pattern not too long ago and figured I would remember it all, but I needed a refresher on that one part. As I’m knitting and come to the yarnover, I stop, and tell myself “counterclockwise.” It still doesn’t feel natural yet, but I’m getting the hang of it again.
…Reading…
I’m very used to the reaction I get at the library when I walk up to the desk with such a huge stack of books. I think it’s pretty funny to see the look on people’s faces and hear what they say. If I get a big stack of picture books I can go to the library every few weeks, rather than weekly. Bracken and I read two picture books together most days and it’s fun to have new ones. A few we’ve really been enjoying lately are: ‘Imagine A Night’ and ‘Imagine A Place.’ The artwork by Rob Gonsalves is simply amazing! Also ‘Blue on Blue’ and ‘The House in the Night’, both illustrated by Beth Krommes, whose artwork we really enjoy as well. Oh, and I loved ‘My Mama Had a Dancing Heart.’ I’m always looking for children’s books with beautiful artwork. Have any favorites?
How about you? Knitting? Reading?

Love that hat and it will be great in that yarn.
