Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…The bouquets of flowers that Bracken is always picking for us in the garden.
.
…Having a good cry during a heartwarming movie. It’s cleansing and feels good, doesn’t it?
.
…Load after load of laundry hung on the line. The clothes feel so much cleaner and fresher somehow when they dry in the sunshine and the outdoor air.
.
…Treasures around the yard that Bracken found: part of a robin’s egg, a dried butterfly wing, feathers, and maple seeds.
.
…The incredibly delicious salmon patties Jeff made by grinding salmon up with lemon zest and herbs.
.
…Planting all the zinnia and calendula starts in the front garden, tucking them in here and there. How nice it will be to have spots of color everywhere.
.
…Coming downstairs to find a bowl full of freshly harvested nettles in the kitchen. And having more and more things making their way from our garden to our kitchen, and into our meals.
.
…Finding the perfect stainless steel pan that we were in need of. Secondhand (great deal) and as good as new.
.
…The energy to tackle the many projects that need doing right now.
.
…An evening spent barefoot, watering the garden. My favorite way to spend an evening, in the garden.
.
…Two boxes filled up to donate to the thrift store. I get on a roll when we start downsizing and it feels so good!
.
…Getting to our vegetables on the stove right before they burned.
.
…Having a fun (and late) night last night. (Thus the belated post this morning.)

How wonderful that your week is so full of things to be grateful for.
I love the feeling of filling up bags with clothes we no longer need to give to those who will be happy to receive them. I feel that the older I get, the less I need – it’s a wonderful feeling.
