In Bracken’s earlier days, we spent a majority of our market days in our booth. These days Bracken and I go back to our booth to eat meals, check on dad and see if he needs a break, and for regrouping, but we spend most of our market day walking around the market. We love many things about the market, visiting friends and the farmer’s market, but the day can get quite long and every now and then it’s nice to get away from town and all the activity to go someplace quiet. We have some friends who have been needing just the same thing and who love to meet up on Saturdays to go on adventures.
This last weekend we went to Brice Creek. I’d never been there before and I love seeing new places. It was a beautiful spot and just exactly what we needed that day. We hiked through the woods, admired big trees, and spotted a few bat houses way up. We had a picnic, waded in the water, and enjoyed getting wet. It was a great day. Each new beautiful place I see makes me fall in love with Oregon all over again, I so enjoy getting to see another part of it.

Taryn….At the base of the stump of one of your pictures it shows a large clover. Did you know that these are edible and a great source of vitamin C. They taste a little sour but my girls ate them everytime we came upon them. They are called Sal Al.

I think we tried those before and they were really delicious. 🙂 A friend was there to properly identify them for me. Thanks for the reminder!
