Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…Growing zinnias in our garden for the first time this year, inspired by seeing them in a neighbor’s garden, and enjoying them so much. They’re definitely on the list for next year.
.
…Jeff splitting firewood, while I stacked it in the woodshed, and Bracken had fun on his bike.
.
…Revisiting more old recipes I had forgotten about, and trying new ones.
.
…A hummingbird coming to the kitchen window and staying there for awhile, watching me.
.
…Making lunch while I was cooking breakfast one day. Ideally, I’d do that everyday because it’s so wonderful to have lunch all ready ahead of time.
.
…A family garden harvest in the evening. Saying “Look at this one!” with each interesting thing we find, a double cucumber, a giganto one hiding for too long, or anything amusing.
.
…Bracken getting to take a sheep on a walk for the first time. With leash in hand, it was quite a memorable experience and we’re glad friends shared that with us.
.
…Finding out our friends were safe, after we learned there was a fire not that far from their home and some people were being evacuated.
.
…The fact that Bracken just ended up with some scrapes on his leg when he slipped while climbing the apple tree.
.
…Following a feeling I had, which brought me to the right place at the right time. I love those aha moments that make you go “oh, this is why I felt like coming this way.”
.
…Bracken sitting on my lap, putting his foot over mine, as we worked on a sewing project together.
.
…Watching rain fall on the garden, making things look more green again for a short while. (More please.)
.
…Funny and strange dreams that make me laugh.
.
…Being able to enjoy summer a little longer. We haven’t gotten enough of it yet.

What beautiful memories all in one week. I’m so glad that Bracken’s fall was no worse. xx
