Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…The surprise asters that popped up in the garden. I didn’t know Jeff and Bracken had planted those.
.
…The incredibly delicious pears that my dad and stepmom shared with us from their tree.
.
…Coconut cream with frozen berries and a drizzle of honey. Yum. (We put the coconut milk in the fridge and then later scoop the cream off the top.)
.
…Whenever Bracken holds my hand and falls asleep that way. It’s one of my favorite things in the world.
.
…Getting to the post office right before they closed for lunch and to the bank right before they closed for the day.
.
…Watching a movie that was one of my very favorites when I was a teenager and that I hadn’t watched for years. (Serendipity. I still love it.)
.
…Jeff surprising Bracken and I with fresh-squeezed orange juice when I had been craving it during my cold.
.
…The first night that I was able to sleep through the night without tissues stuck in my runny nose. I was so happy. It’s the little things, isn’t it?
.
…How good it feels to be better again, after being sick!
.
…Sharing garden produce with friends. It made everybody happy because they appreciated the produce and we didn’t have time to process anything before our festival (I felt like they were doing us a favor.)
.
…Mapquest. What would we do without it?
.
…Having such a great weekend at the Oregon Flock & Fiber Festival!
.
…Being welcomed home by the smell of lemon blossoms on the front porch.
