…Joining Ginny’s YarnAlong, sharing what I’m knitting and reading…
I finished reading a magazine (Taproot, Issue 13: Song) on our plane ride to Colorado and got part way through the second (Taproot, Issue 14: Wild) on the plane ride home. I was pretty excited about that, it felt like such a treat to get that time! Reading magazines always relaxes me and Taproot is full of inspiration.
It’s time for me to get started on Bracken’s birthday sweater (earlier would have been preferred), but since I was so close to finishing a sweater for myself, I decided to wrap that up first. I’m currently casting off. I learned how to do the I-cord Bind Off for the first time and I love the way it looks. I want to use that technique more often.
How about you? Knitting? Reading?

Taproot is the only magazine I subscribe to and one I love to read from cover to cover. You are so right, it is full of inspiration.
Oh, an I-cord bind off, that is something that is new to me and I will have to give it a try. I try to learn at least three new knitting skills a year, there is still so much I don’t know.

The I-cord Bind Off is really easy and with all your knitting experience, Tracey, it will be a cinch! 🙂

I love Taproot!
The latest issue “FOLK”is the best one yet…
I don’t mind paying a little bit more for the quality that is in this magazine ….

I’m going to order Taproot, too. Yay for i-cord bind off! I want to try that. I did an i-cord trim (added on after sewing it all together) on a cardi and it turned out just the way I wanted it to. Yay for EZ!
Thank you for Yarning Along! It’s so fun!

Happy knitting xx

Taproot is my favorite magazine. I have every issue so when I finish the current issue I can go back to reread stories in others. I always pick up something I missed the second time around.

I just ordered a subscription to Taproot and cannot wait to get my first issue. I was knitting a scarf for a gift but learned how to make braided rag rugs the other day and now I can’t stop doing that!
