{Sunday’s heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}

Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…The start of a new journal with a brand new pen. (A new pen has always been something I’ve gotten excited about. If that makes me nerdy, I’m quite okay with that.)
.
…Some outside time, with the three of us working side by side in the rain. We pulled up ivy, blackberries, and thimbleberries from around the lilac bush. Then Bracken built gnome houses in the garden.
.
…Digging in the dirt and getting my hands dirty. Especially enjoyed since we don’t garden as much this time of year and it feels so good.
.
…The reminder to channel anxiety physically rather than emotionally. That’s when I need to get outside and move.
.
…Dumping the compost bucket, bringing treats to the chickens, gathering eggs, trimming apple branches for the bunnies …and all the other daily things that keep us outside for just a bit longer.
.
…Waking up early so I could get some good work time before Bracken woke up, and then being a more fun and less stressed companion on those days.
.
…Bracken and I listening to The Wailin’ Jennys during our car ride, as we looked out at all the fall colors on the trees. (And having him request the same songs over and over, just like I do. I’ve annoyed many people throughout my life by putting a song on repeat.)
.
…Running into friends at the grocery store when I had a funny feeling that we would.
.
…Clear skies here and there for picture taking, so I could get new items posted in the shop.
.
…The wonderful meal our friends shared with us. Winter squash soup with chantrelles and baked sweet potatoes and carrots. So delicious.
.
…A fall walk through the woods, with all colors of leaves at our feet.
.
…Bracken possibly saving me from a speeding ticket when, from the backseat, he asked why I was driving so fast, only to have me realize I was speeding a bit and slowing down (immediately before we saw the cop along the side of the road.)
.
…People you love showing up right when you need them most.
