Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…The tiny fig on our fig tree, that we planted last May. Bracken and I were so excited when we discovered it and couldn’t wait to tell Jeff. The leaves have fallen off since this picture, but the fig is still hanging on. It’s the cutest wee fig I’ve ever seen.
.
…How wonderful it feels to get your appetite back after not feeling well. Then digging in and devouring delicious food only to have it taste better than ever before.
.
…Fresh clean sheets on the bed after not feeling well, too! It’s a part of the ritual of recovery.
.
…Bracken insisting that the brussel sprouts we got at the farmer’s market were too cute to eat. “Look at the baby cabbages, mama!”
.
…Jeff always being a goofball and passing that along to Bracken. This week they made hats out of cabbage leaves when we made some sauerkraut.
.
…Not being without electricity for long, since we had so many orders to complete.
.
…The dancing and singing Santa at the post office that delights Bracken so much. (Did I mention that last week? If so, it deserves being mentioned again because it makes him so happy.)
.
…The times when following a hunch turns out to be successful.
.
…Homemade chicken soup. Exactly what I’ve been craving lately and can’t get enough of.
.
…Knowing that sometimes your best protection is your own two feet. And for having the courage to use them and walk away.
.
…The people who give me support, when it’s exactly what I need. And tell me I did the right thing, when it’s exactly what I need to hear.
.
…A new water filter so we can get a drink of water without waiting forever.
