I’ve realized that knitting deadlines are not realistic for me right now and that’s okay. The project I wanted to have finished for Christmas can be finished in January instead. My knitting projects have a pace of their own, especially this time of year, so I’m going with it.
Bracken and I finished reading Farmer Boy. We’d been savoring it and making it last for so long, but we’re finally onto the next one. We’re reading On The Banks of Plum Creek and Bracken always begs for just “one more chapter, please!”
How about you? Knitting? Reading?

Is Farmer Boy the one about Almanzo when he was growing up? I remember reading that one with my son when he was little. I was so hungry all through it since as I recall a some of it revolved around his mother’s cooking. The remarks about her cooking the mixture of “apples and onions” always made me wonder what that might have tasted like.
They are such good books.
Victoria- Yes, Farmer Boy is the one about Almanzo. It’s such a good book. It does make you hungry reading it! And I’m also curious about apples and onions. 🙂
Apples & onions are delicious! If you eat meat, it is especially good with pork.
Farmer Boy always makes us hungry. We love that book! Right now the kids and I are working through our Christmas pile of books as well as reading Ben Hur. And I’m doing Mark Twain’s Joan of Arc by myself. Slowly. Very slowly.
Blessings to you and yours
I just looked up Mark Twain’s Joan of Arc and it sounds like a fascinating read.
I’m just on my second sock. I think I just might get it done for my daughters stocking stuffer ; )
I don’t think I could ever keep up with a knit along. My life doesn’t allow for long periods of knitting……unless I don’t sleep.
Merry Christmas to you and yours
