Recently Bracken went around the yard collecting the ice from the tops of buckets and wherever he could find it (his favorite activity in the yard when there is ice around here), breaking it up into pieces, and then told me he was making a batch of ice soup. (Had I known he was going to use his butterfly net for his net, I probably would have recommended another net to use, but it held up just fine.) No ice-on-a-stick this time, but discovering ice in the yard is always fun for him. He’s been telling me how much he misses summer weather and flowers, so the ice helps. Now if he could just get some snow, then he’d be really excited about wintertime!
