Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…Bracken spotting the very first trilliums blooming in the forest, during our walk. (And how incredible they smelled! Last year was the first time I learned about their scent.)
.
…Drawing new designs for the shop. Doodling is so much fun, I could never call it work.
.
…A bit of decorating around my desk space to bring me joy. Surrounding myself with inspiration and color makes such a difference in how I feel.
.
…Bracken coming over and introducing himself as an artwork maker. I said: “Oh, you’re an artist. Nice to meet you”, to which he replied “No, I’m an artwork maker.” I prefer artwork maker too.
.
…Taking pictures for our Etsy shop outside while Bracken played with his pet snails.
.
…Patching up a hole on Bracken’s stuffed toy, Hootie, and sewing a heart in that spot. Now his wool stuffing won’t come out (and I was so pleased to have actually finished a mending project, since I have a pile of them that hardly ever get touched.)
.
…My weekly grocery store trip. I know some people dread grocery shopping, but it’s something I really love and enjoy. I like to have a little extra time so I don’t have to rush while I’m there.
.
…Waking up to Bracken so sweetly putting his hand on my cheek. I believe it was my favorite way to wake up ever.
.
…Jeff making sweet potatoes to surprise us because he knows how much we like them. (And then remembering and bringing eggs for our friend that day, when I had written myself a note to do so, but had forgotten.)
.
…Having a feeling to call a friend I hadn’t talked to in so long and then having her need some extra love that day, and being so glad I picked up that phone.
.
…Friendships with so much love that you can go a long time without talking and feel like no time has passed at all.
.
…Jeff telling us to smell the lemon blossoms on the front porch. They smell divine. Jeff said “that’s what Hawaii smells like.” (He lived there for awhile when he was a boy.)

I too, love to grocery shop! I try to meal plan and then follow a list when I’m shopping – there’s something satisfying in it all, you know?
Blessings on your week!

We are at least a month out on our trilliums – it’s so lovely to see pics of yours!
And I love grocery shopping too!

Tell me, what does Jeff do with the sweet potatoes? I’m interested in finding some new recipes for them!

We’ve typically been slicing them in rounds and baking them (covered in coconut oil) or sometimes he sautes them on the stove until they are cooked though. My favorite way is when they are baked.

Thanks, i should try coconut oil as I’ve only used it in making hand creams etc before but not very experienced in cooking with it. I know you have used it a lot and found it great.
