Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…Going on a rain walks with my family. And the cute little mushroom Jeff spotted growing out of a log in our yard. There’s always something new to notice.
.
…Jeff and Bracken harvesting kale and collards for our soup and some watercress for our salad.
.
…Frogs singing us to sleep in the front pond. (It happens to be close enough to our bedroom window that we can hear them very well. They’re quite loud, but we’re all comforted by that sound.)
.
…Bracken helping fold laundry and put it away in the dresser.
.
…Waking up extra early. That doesn’t always happen, but when it does it’s so nice to get such a good start on the day.
.
…Baked onions. I could eat loads of them, they’re so good.
.
…Jeff coming with us to town and driving while I got lots and lots of buttons tied on cards during the drive. It’s wonderful when my work is portable!
.
…Listening to Sparkle Stories with Bracken while I made breakfast and he drew pictures (and some pictures of the stories we were listening to.)
.
…Sauteing plantains for the first time. Yum. I had some while we were in Florida and wanted to experiment with preparing them.
.
…Bracken and I baking three batches of muffins and putting some in the freezer. I want to start doing that more because some weeks I don’t get muffins made and having some in the freezer is so wonderful!
.
…Thunderstorms this morning. I love the sound of thunder.
