{Sunday’s heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}

Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…The beautiful irises that just opened up in the garden. (They came early this year.)
.
…Going to my self-defense class for the first time in a long time, having a good workout, and connecting with the awesome ladies there. (For you locals: the location changed and classes are now on Sundays.)
.
…Having time to go grocery shopping without being in a rush, so I could take my time as I walked around. (Some days the schedule doesn’t allow for such leisurely grocery store trips, so I enjoy them when that happens.)
.
…Celebrating s sweet little girl’s birthday. And an evening at a beautiful park, grilling out, with kids running all around.
.
…The soup Jeff had made and put in the freezer, so that when we needed an easy meal this week we were able to pull it out and have an instant dinner.
.
…Being more organized so we could have some un-rushed mornings before we headed out the door (so mom would be less stressed, making everyone else less stressed.) It starts the day in such a better way, doesn’t it?
.
…A day warm enough where we actually needed to spray ourselves with the garden hose to cool down when we were out in the garden for a bit. That was the first this season and felt like a taste of summer already.
.
…Jarring up our sauerkraut with turmeric and garlic and onion flakes. (We eat it more quickly than we can make it around here.)
.
…Bringing our snack out to the garden to eat because it’s always more fun to eat outside. (Apples dipped in nut butter.)
.
…The movie The Princess Bride finally being available on Netflix. That was a favorite childhood movie of mine, Jeff and I both love it, and we hadn’t watched it in so long. (I know most of the lines, and we even have a Buff Orpington chicken named Princess Buttercup.)
.
…Jeff having dinner ready ahead of time so we could just come straight home from market last night when we were exhausted and eat some dinner without much effort.
