{ G r a t i t u d e * S u n d a y :: Sunday’s heartfelt tradition.
A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}

Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…The white and purple irises that surprised us in the garden. (I think we had one before, and it stood out from our other irises, but now it’s spread. We were so happy to have more.)
.
…Eating homemade popsicles out in the garden with our friends on a hot day.
.
…Jeff’s wonderful idea to eat our breakfast outside one morning when it was too beautiful to not be out in it. The sun shining and the birds singing made breakfast taste even better.
.
…Days warm enough to bring out the little pool in the backyard.
.
…Sitting and painting earrings for awhile. I couldn’t believe how much time had gone by, I was completely lost in painting and it was great to be productive while relaxing at the same time.
.
…Hearing Bracken’s conversations with his friends on the phone. Melts my heart every time.
.
…Making things my family loves to eat. And every time they exclaim over a meal I prepare.
.
…Bracken’s two year old friend calling him “My Bracken” in the sweetest little voice you ever heard.
.
…My friend letting me borrow her cell phone when ours had accidentally been left on and the battery died.
.
…Reading to Jeff and Bracken from ‘The Long Winter’ by Laura Ingalls Wilder before bed. (Jeff is so tired by the end of the day from working all day, but he always tries to keep his eyes open long enough to hear what’s going to happen next.)
.
…Bracken bringing out a book (The Giving Tree) and opening it up, and telling the story of each page to Jeff when he had a sore throat and was a bit under the weather. And then telling him he’d read him a story anytime he wasn’t feeling well.
.
…Seeing Bracken’s previous speech therapist and seeing him tear up when he heard how well Bracken was talking since we ran into him a year ago.
.
…Help when I need it. And generous people.
