Bracken liked the pumpkin hat that I knit for Jeff’s grandson so much that he asked me to knit one for him. I was more than happy to oblige. I had plenty of yarn left to make one for him, and the thought also occurred to me that someday he might not want to wear pumpkin hats anymore, so I wanted to make him one while he was requesting it. I knit the same pattern as before, Pumpkin Hat by Amy Grace, and I finished one for him for his sixth birthday. I used that same beautiful yarn (from Mosaic Moon) I knit the first one with, the color I had been searching for. This time I finished the top of the pumpkin hat with leftover yarn from his green Aston Hat, that beloved yarn from Sincere Sheep. (My Ravelry notes are here.) He loves his new hat and I love that he enjoys what I knit for him so much. That makes my knitting heart very glad!

Little ones grow up before you know it. Indulge their whimsies of pumpkin hats and such while you can. Love the way you finished the hat with the little green stem.
