Every single time I see a trillium flower blooming in the woods, I feel like I am witnessing pure magic. Year after year, that feeling never wears off. No matter how many times I admire them, no matter how many times I photograph them, no matter how many times I smell them… I’m in awe all over again. (I’m so grateful to our friend who told me to smell the trillium flowers, for many years I had no idea how amazing they smell.) This last week when I brought my camera along in the woods surrounding our house, to capture them before they faded away, the afternoon light was pouring in and with the petals all aglow they looked angelic somehow. Yes, those springtime beauties with the white petals are pure magic…

My favorite flower and you post this on my birthday 😊- thank you. I remember many walks in the woods with my grandpa when I was a little girl and how magical I thought these little delicate flowers were, especially in contrast to the rugged and woodsy backdrop. Every time, it felt like Christmas morning. Just beautiful! – ❤
